Ronnie wins at Southwell

Ronnie (aka Synchronist) won the novices’ steeplechase at Southwell on 2 November under champion jockey, Sean Bowen. This was Ronnie’s first win over fences, although he had won twice over hurdles in 2025. Sean had always said that he would be better over fences but it has taken some time for the penny to drop with Ronnie. He has plenty of ability and plenty of scope in his jumping but he can be a little too laid-back! Sean galvanised him and kept him up to his work, leading or disputing the lead throughout the race and finally winning in a photo finish! A little too cosy for comfort but a win is a win! As was the case with his hurdling wins, let’s hope that Ronnie gains confidence from this performance and follows up!
