Caelan placed on Yard Debut

One of the new recruits to the Yen Hall Farm Racing club, Caelan ran a very encouraging race at Market Rasen on 17 October to finish third, only half a length behind the favourite and beaten just 3 1/2 lengths by the winner. As a result of the very dry summer, we had not been able to work or school on grass and so this was a particularly good effort on his debut. We believe that he is well handicapped and we expect him to win before long.

On the same card, Synchronist (aka Ronnie) ran in a 2 mile 3 furlong novice steeplechase. It was great to see Ronnie run with such zest and he jumped and travelled well, up with the pace, until hitting the third last fence which rather knocked the stuffing out of him and he finished only fifth. There was nevertheless quite a lot of positives to take out of this first run for seven months and we plan to get him out on the track again within a few weeks.
