Milan Scores at Plumpton

 In Latest News

Milan Bridge won on his third start for the yard at Plumpton on 18 December. He was given a brilliant ride by Daryl Jacob in the 3 mile 1 1/2 furlong steeplechase and won at 10/1. Milan had been successful for Paul Nicholls and the Executors of Trevor Hemmings in hurdle races, winning 3 of 5 starts, but had lost confidence when sent chasing. We have spent a few months trying to rebuild his confidence and helping to recover from a serious wind operation during the summer. Daryl had learnt about the horse when riding him at Leicester in November and we agreed a change of tactics which certainly paid off today! This win should certainly have helped Milan’s confidence – and he finished strongly with a good leap at the last, accelerating away up the run-in – and we expect more to follow!

The great photographs of Milan flying the last to seal his win and of Daryl Jacob debriefing the owners are courtesy of Darren Cool Images.
