Gloire D’Athon Jumps for Glory

Gloire D’Athon (aka Glory), who won multiple times steeplechasing for our owner, Jenni Pitman, is enjoying his new career as an eventer. Now owned and ridden by Charlotte Cutler, who works for us, Glory performed very well at the Little Downham Horse Trials this month. The competition was tough with international and national riders participating on their younger, up and coming, horses. Glory’s strength is his superb jumping and he easily scored a double-clear in the show-jumping and cross-country phases, particularly in the latter in which he got into a beautiful rhythm, never missing a beat at the wide variety of obstacles. The only drawback that he was enjoying himself so much and made such easy work of it that he came in well under the stipulated time and incurred penalties for going too quickly! Nevermind, as he progresses up through the ranks, the optimum times increase and he will find that that is to his advantage!

It is so good to see graduates from our yard enjoying life and doing well when they leave their racing days behind them. We regularly hear of others of our ex-racehorses doing well and being so well cared for in their new homes.
