Great run by Sam and Jamie!

Our conditional, Jamie Gambin, had an excellent return to racing following a recent injury. He rode The Wise Traveller (aka Sam) to finish second in the conditional jockeys’ 3 mile hurdle race at Huntingdon on 27 May. That doesn’t give the full story as the pair finished over 30 lengths ahead of the third horse, with the fourth horse trailing in some 40 lengths further back and the pre-race favourite failing to complete. The winner was very well handicapped (13 pounds lower than in November last year!) and dropped in class (having been running in class 1, 2 and 3 hurdle races in 2023 but now dropped to a class 4 race). It was therefore not surprising that he won well, beating Sam by some 7 lengths! All things considered, it was a very good result for Sam and a great return to racing for Jamie. Onward and upward!
