Update from the USA – NEWSFLASH

Our youngest son, William, says that he is “living the dream” working for top US trainer, Graham Motion and riding as an apprentice. Since starting work at Graham Motion’s headquarters at Herringswell Stables in Fair Hill, Maryland in mid-March and then getting his Maryland apprentice licence, William has had 32 rides and ridden 3 winners and had several placed finishes – despite, as a starting apprentice, riding a good number of horses with very little in the way of realistic chances. As an interesting contrast with British racing, he has managed to accumulate winnings of well over $100,000 since 2 April. This is a photograph of him in the winner’s enclosure after his latest win on 7 May.

Newsflash! Since writing the above, William has just won another race, on 8 May – this one at 16/1!
