New Recruits Placed on Yard Debuts

 In Latest News

Order of Justice (aka Georgia), a new recruit who had won her Irish point to point in March, was second at Fakenham on her debut for the yard on 17 October. She was a little keen and led for much of the race but was overhauled approaching the final hurdle but, as the Racing Post commented, she “ran an admirable race” and she showed all the signs of having a very bright future.

On the same day, Dartan, another new recruit and an 8 year old who has already won three races over hurdles and five on the flat, was second in a steeplechase at Uttoxeter.  This was an intriguing match between two exciting horses. It was Dartan’s first race since July and the winner is a very progressive younger horse and was tough competition. Dartan wasn’t helped by losing both front shoes and by striking into himself quite badly. The fact that he then continued to travel and jump so well was impressive and he will certainly win good races as he continues his career with us.

Another new recruit, Tigga Time, had his ysrd debut on 23 October. Tigga had been off for 465 days having sustained an injury when with his previous trainer. Ridden by our conditional, Jamie Gambin, Tigga ran a good race and finished just outside the placings in 5th of the 11 runners. The target for the day was to have a clear round and to come home safely and he certainly did that and we were very encouraged by the run and are confident that he will win very soon.
