DAZ SPARKLES

 In Latest News

Fulgurant (aka Daz) defied his odds of 22/1 and, ridden patiently by Nick Scholfield, ran an excellent race to finish 2nd in a 2 mile 7 furlong maiden hurdle at Worcester on 3 September. He has taken some time to mature but this was a significant step forward. Ideally he would want softer ground and will come into his own over chase fences. The winner of the race is a nice summer horse who seemed to relish the ground but Daz claimed some important scalps, overturning his previous form against the third placed horse by some 27 lengths and leaving a £130,000 purchased Irish winning pointer trailing behind him by well over 80 lengths.

Daz also won the best turned out prize as a result of excellent grooming and plaiting by Skye and Belinda and even had a plaited tail!

Stop The Train (aka Annie) also ran in the same race and travelled and jumped well for a long time but found the conditions and the fact that this was her first run since her wind op a little too much of a challenge. That is not unusual after a wind-op and we are looking forward to her running again soon.
