Daniel Deronda placed on his debut for the yard!
Daniel Deronda did his owners proud by being placed on his first jumps run for over a year when he finished fourth in the 2 miles Robert Case Memorial Maiden Hurdle at Fakenham on 15 March. His jumping technique had been decidedly weak when he joined the yard, although he had won on the flat on a couple of occasions for a previous yard. We had worked on his jumping skills and his confidence and this run was intended to build his confidence further and to let him enjoy his racing again.
Three days earlier, on 12 March, Tom (aka Templier) had taken another long trip back to Sedgefield and ran another gutsy race for Yen Hall Farm Racing, finishing second again. He has now won over £9,000 in “penalty value” prize money since 1 November and over £23,000 since his debut for the yard some 16 months ago.
On 25 March, Annie (aka Stop This Train) was placed in a mares’ steeplechase at Huntingdon. Her jumping is excellent and she clearly enjoyed the race and jumped with real enthusiasm. Here is a photograph of Annie with her owners in the winners’ enclosure.
