Crooner at Festival Cross Country

Minella Crooner gave his owner, Dr Belinda Rose, and the team a memorable day out at the Cheltenham Festival when he ran in the iconic Cross Country race on 11 March. Ridden by James Best, he gave a tremendous display over the entertainingly wide variety of obstacles, jumping brilliantly and travelling right up with the first 3 or 4 horses in the 14 runner field. We were all beginning to get very excited when he was still in contention with just a handful of fences to tackle but the dream did not come true as the marathon 3 mile 5 furlong trip proved just a little too far for him. Having started at 150/1 he exceeded all expectations and achieved the objective of giving connections a day to remember at the Festival. Thank you Crooner and Belinda!
