Flame Glows Brightly

Flamelco (aka Flame) ran very well in a handicap chase at Hereford on 27 November. This was Flame’s second outing for us and he was ridden by Jay Tidball. Flame was almost last in the betting at a very generous 16/1 but went straight into the lead and gave an excellent display of jumping. He was clearly enjoying himself and was unlucky to come up against the very well-handicapped winner. Even when joined at the second last fence, Flame didn’t give in and he gamely kept on to try to score but was finally beaten by 1 1/4 lengths. We are still getting to know Flame and he did show a tendency to run to jump to the left and, on a left handed track he could have been tough to beat. All in all, this was a very encouraging run.
