Glory does it again!
Gloire d’Athon won the valuable Class 2 feature race at Uttoxeter on 28 May under a superb ride by Aidan Coleman. There were 12 runners in the 2 mile 4 furlong handicap chase for the Sir Stanley and Lady Clarke Challenge Trophy and it was a competitive renewal, with plenty of well-fancied runners. This was Glory’s 5th win from just 6 chase starts since joining the yard and was his 2nd Class 2 win in a row, having won the Josh Gifford Novices Handicap Chase at Sandown on the last day of last season, a month ago on 29 April. As the Racing Post commented, “he jumped and travelled notably well” and “is thriving for current connections and will remain open to further improvement”. Glory does seem to improve with each run and he remains an exciting prospect in good quality handicaps.
