Grainey runs in the National
Graineyhill ran in the Durham National on 18 October. He is an interesting horse to train as he has lots of ability but lacks confidence and we have had to work hard to make him believe in himself. This was only his second start for us and it was brilliant to see him jumping so well and clearly enjoying his race and it was a major improvement on his first run for us at Bangor. Given that the Durham National is a class 2 race and was run over 3 miles 5 furlongs (significantly further than he has run before), it was perhaps not surprising to see him weaken over the last three furlongs. The improvement suggests that Yen Hall Farm Racing should have fun and success with him in future races. Here is a great shot of him leaping a fence: image courtesy of John Grossick www.grossick.co.uk.
