Dreamboat Dave was the Racing Post’s “Eyecatcher” of the meeting having won the 1 mile 2 furlong handicap at the end of the evening. Eoin Walsh gave Dave a brilliant ride – quick out of the stalls but then settled him in about 4th place for most of the race until swinging into the home straight. With a little encouragement, Dave accelerated impressively and quickly asserted into the lead and won comfortably by 2 1/2 lengths. This was Dave’s first win, having being placed several times for leading trainer, Ger Lyons, in Ireland and finishing third in his previous run for us ten days ago. He is only a three year old and is sure to improve further as he strengthens up. Congratulations to The Old Eatonians on a lovely win!
Arcadian Sea (aka Brian) ran a very good race at Huntingdon on 2 October. Although he just lost 4th on the line, he ran impressively in one of the fastest races of the day (significantly quicker than the 1st division of the race) and jumped very well, finishing under 4 lengths behind the winner who was carrying a stone less than Brian. He is in excellent form and a win can’t be far away.
